چکیده

Abstract Background MicroRNAs (miRNAs) represent a novel class of single-stranded RNA molecules 18–22 nucleotides that serve as powerful tools in the regulation gene expression. They are important regulatory several biological processes. Main body Alteration expression profiles miRNAs have been found diseases. It is anticipated miRNA profiling can become diagnostic tool future. Hence, this review evaluates implications various diseases and recent advances level detection their target identification. A systematic approach to existing literature available on databases such Medline, PubMed, EMBASE was conducted better understanding mechanisms mediating miRNA-dependent role markers therapeutic agents. Conclusion clear complex multilevel prerequisite explicate origin wide variety understandable offer potential targets both diagnostics therapeutics multitude The inclusion specific biomarkers may lead crucial advancements facilitating disease diagnosis classification, monitoring its prognosis, treatment. However, standardization methods has pivotal success extensive use routine clinical settings.

RNA-guided diagnostics and therapeutics for next-generation individualized nanomedicine.

The absence of reliable quantitative laboratory tests for measurements of microRNAs and other classes of small noncoding RNAs in archived, formalin- fixed, paraffin-embedded human samples with sufficient specificity and sensitivity has significantly limited the development of clinically relevant noncoding RNA–based diagnostic and therapeutic applications. A report by Renwick et al. in this issu...

Next-generation sequencing: a new revolution in molecular diagnostics?

In 1980, Fred Sanger and Walter Gilbert were awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry for discovering novel ways for sequencing nucleic acids. In 2003, the human genome sequence was published, an effort that involved more than 3000 scientists from 6 countries. The work took 13 years to complete, at a cost of nearly $3 billion. Only 6 years later, nucleic acid sequencing technologies have advanced t...

Practical Tools to Implement Massive Parallel Pyrosequencing of PCR Products in Next Generation Molecular Diagnostics

Despite improvements in terms of sequence quality and price per basepair, Sanger sequencing remains restricted to screening of individual disease genes. The development of massively parallel sequencing (MPS) technologies heralded an era in which molecular diagnostics for multigenic disorders becomes reality. Here, we outline different PCR amplification based strategies for the screening of a mu...
